Studying them to see what kind of life or people they've encountered by the wear and tear of its exterior.
Chairs, especially belong in this category.
Not the pretty ones you find in design magazines but the bruised and battered one you find on the side of the road.
There is so much you can learn from people by the objects they own.
And as far as I can remember chairs have always been my favorite objects to photograph.
At the book store today I found this pretty great book by
Andrea Marchetti entitled "Lost-tales of chairs and dereliction."

She articulates the beauty of this objects in a much more brilliant way then I could ever.

I am the author of that book. I like the way you grabbed the meaning of my work, what I tried to express, and also the way you explained it - thank you! The only thing, I am not a woman, I am a man, but I think it doesn't really matter. I'm Italian and in Italy Andrea is a male name (which makes sense, since it comes from the old Greek and means "man") although I live in Spain and here it is also a female name so I am used to misunderstanding... I'd be curious to know in which bookshop you found the book.. I'll be in the States in May and if there is a chance I'll be happy to meet you. Just yesterday I started my blog, http://and0909.blogspot.com, there is not much there yet but more will come soon. Let's stay in touch. Thank you again. Andrea
